Overview
Miraidon ex is a fast-paced Lightning deck built around its Tandem Unit Ability, which allows players to search their deck for two Basic Lightning Pokémon and place them directly onto the Bench.
This ability gives the deck extremely strong early-game setup, often allowing a full Bench within the first turn. The deck then accelerates Lightning Energy using Flaaffy and applies constant pressure with powerful attackers like Raikou V.
Because it can establish its board so quickly, Miraidon ex remains one of the most aggressive Lightning archetypes in the format.
Playstyle
Miraidon ex decks focus on fast board development and immediate offensive pressure.
Using Tandem Unit early allows the deck to quickly set up multiple attackers and support Pokémon. Once the Bench is established, Flaaffy’s Dynamotor ability accelerates Lightning Energy from the discard pile to keep attackers powered up throughout the game.
The deck aims to take early Prize cards using Raikou V or Miraidon ex, forcing opponents to react quickly. Its speed makes it particularly effective against slower setup decks.

Flaaffy
Dynamotor allows Lightning Energy to be attached from the discard pile to a Benched Pokémon each turn, providing consistent energy acceleration.
Mareep
The Basic Pokémon required to evolve into Flaaffy and activate the Dynamotor engine.
