Overview
Lost Zone Toolbox is a flexible strategy built around the Lost Zone mechanic, allowing players to power up multiple different attackers depending on the situation.
The deck focuses on quickly filling the Lost Zone using Comfey and other support cards. Once enough cards are in the Lost Zone, powerful effects unlock — most importantly Mirage Gate, which accelerates energy directly from the deck.
Rather than relying on a single main attacker, Lost Zone Toolbox uses a variety of Pokémon to respond to different matchups, making it one of the most adaptable decks in the format.
Playstyle
The deck revolves around rapid Lost Zone acceleration.
Early turns are spent using Comfey’s Flower Selecting ability to place cards into the Lost Zone while digging through the deck. As your Lost Zone count increases, stronger tools become available.
-
At 4 cards in the Lost Zone, Cramorant can attack for free.
-
At 7 cards, Mirage Gate allows you to attach two different Basic Energy from your deck.
-
At 10 cards, Sableye becomes a powerful control attacker that spreads damage counters across the opponent’s board.
Because the deck runs several different attackers, the strategy involves choosing the best option each turn based on the board state.
Core Pokémon
These Pokémon form the backbone of the Lost Zone strategy.
Comfey
The most important setup Pokémon. Flower Selecting lets you look at the top two cards of your deck, keeping one while sending the other to the Lost Zone.
Cramorant
Once four cards are in the Lost Zone, Spit Innocently can be used for free. This provides early pressure without needing Energy attachments.
Sableye
Lost Mine allows you to place multiple damage counters across your opponent’s Pokémon once the Lost Zone reaches ten cards, making it extremely strong for finishing knockouts.
Key Trainer Cards
These cards enable the Lost Zone engine and energy acceleration.
Mirage Gate
One of the most important cards in the deck. Once seven cards are in the Lost Zone, Mirage Gate attaches two different Basic Energy from your deck to one of your Pokémon.
Colress's Experiment
A core draw supporter for Lost Zone decks. It lets you look at five cards, keep three, and send two to the Lost Zone.
Switch Cart
Allows Comfey to rotate in and out of the Active Spot so Flower Selecting can be used multiple times per turn.
Boss's Orders
Essential for targeting key Pokémon on the opponent’s Bench.
Common Utility Pokémon
Many Lost Zone builds include additional Pokémon depending on the metagame.
Radiant Greninja
Provides additional draw power by discarding Energy, which can later be accelerated using Mirage Gate.
Manaphy
Protects the Bench from spread damage.
Lumineon V
Helps find important supporter cards at key moments.
Strategy Tips
Prioritise Lost Zone setup early
Your first turns should focus on using Comfey and Colress’s Experiment to quickly reach 7 cards in the Lost Zone.
Use Cramorant for early pressure
Free attacks allow you to take early knockouts while setting up Mirage Gate.
Choose attackers based on the matchup
The strength of the deck comes from its flexibility. Select the attacker that best counters your opponent’s strategy.
Save Sableye for late-game control
Once the Lost Zone reaches ten cards, Sableye can spread damage across multiple Pokémon to finish knockouts or set up future prizes.
