Blastoise, Alternate Art Mega Lucario Z ex, and More Revealed from Aura Seeker

Blastoise, Alternate Art Mega Lucario Z ex, and More Revealed from Aura Seeker

Fresh card reveals keep rolling in for the upcoming Aura Seeker set, and this week’s batch brings a proper fan favourite into the spotlight. Blastoise headlines a handful of newly revealed cards, alongside stamped reprints and a stunning alternate art Mega Lucario Z ex that could find its way into English products sooner than you might expect.

Blastoise Makes a Splash

Revealed via a Traditional Chinese print, Blastoise arrives as a Stage 2 Water-type with 170 HP and a genuinely interesting Ability. Torrential Pump boosts damage dealt by your Water Pokemon to your opponent’s Benched Pokemon by 30, though the effect doesn’t stack if you have multiple Blastoise in play. Its attack, Heavy Splash, costs three Water Energy and hits for a solid 140 damage. The combination suggests a spread-damage strategy where you soften up the Bench while swinging hard into the Active spot.

Interestingly, a Squirtle that should serve as Blastoise’s pre-evolution in Aura Seeker was accidentally leaked through the McDonald’s 2027 promotional set. According to early reports, Squirtle’s attack synergises neatly with Blastoise’s Ability, hinting at a cohesive evolution line built around Bench pressure.

Aura Seeker releases in Japan on 27 November 2026, with the English version arriving as Flowing Fists on 5 February 2027.

Stamped Reprints and the 10-Pack Plus Set

Hong Kong and Taiwan are getting an Aura Seeker 10-Pack Plus Set featuring stamped reprints of several cards from the main set. Three of them have been revealed so far: Bellsprout, Treecko, and Grovyle. None are powerhouses, but they fill important roles. Bellsprout’s Find a Friend attack lets you search your deck for any Pokemon and add it to your hand for a single Grass Energy, making it a handy consistency option. Treecko offers a coin-flip protection effect via Hide, while Grovyle is a straightforward Stage 1 with Solar Blade dealing 40 damage.

All three of these Pokemon can Mega Evolve in the wider franchise, but according to reports, none of them are expected to receive Mega Evolution cards in Aura Seeker itself. The mysterious Mega x Mega Parade set, which has been teased but not fully detailed, could be where those evolutions eventually land.

Alternate Art Mega Lucario Z ex and Prerelease Blastoise

Perhaps the most exciting reveal is the alternate art Mega Lucario Z ex, part of an Aura Seeker Bonus Set releasing in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Early speculation suggests this card could become one of the spring tin promos in English, potentially paired with the cut Eevee ex from Delta Reign. An alternate art Blastoise has also been revealed from the same Bonus Set, and this one is tipped to become one of four prerelease promos for the English Flowing Fists set.

For collectors, the Mega Lucario Z ex alternate art is likely to be the chase piece here. Lucario has consistently been one of the more popular Pokemon in the TCG collecting space, and a premium alternate art treatment on a Mega Z ex card could carry serious demand once it hits English-language products. Keep an eye on spring tin announcements for confirmation.
