How Slowking / Mega Kangaskhan ex wins
The entire deck is built around Slowking's Seek Inspiration attack. For a Psychic and a Colourless Energy, Slowking discards the top card of its deck and, if that card is a Pokémon without a Rule Box, copies one of its attacks. That single sentence is why the Pokémon list reads like a toolbox: Metagross's Bounce Back forces an opponent's switch, Annihilape's Destined Fight knocks out both Active Pokémon, Kyurem's Trifrost spreads 110 damage across three targets. Each of those non-Rule Box Pokémon lives in the deck waiting to be revealed at the right moment.
Deck ordering is how you control which Pokémon appears. Ciphermaniac's Codebreaking searches for two cards and places them on top of the deck in any order, so you choose exactly what Seek Inspiration hits next turn. Academy at Night adds a second tool: once per turn each player may put a card from their hand on the top of their deck, letting you replace a wrong card with the one you actually want. Running four copies of each means you can reliably have one available when you need to load the top of the deck.
Mew ex adds a parallel route through its Memory Helix Ability, which lets it use the attacks of any of your Benched Pokémon. Because Mega Kangaskhan ex, Annihilape, Metagross, Zeraora and others sit on your Bench rather than in the deck, Mew ex can reach those same attacks without needing to discard. You still need the necessary Energy for each attack, and the deck carries four Telepathic Psychic Energy, four Basic Psychic Energy, three Wondrous Patch, and two Boomerang Energy to fuel both routes.
Mega Kangaskhan ex earns its spot even when it is not being copied. With 300 HP and the Run Errand Ability - draw 2 cards once per turn while it is in the Active Spot - it functions as a durable, card-generating pivot. Latias ex's Skyliner Ability removes Retreat Costs from all your Basic Pokémon in play, so you can swap Mega Kangaskhan ex out freely the moment you have finished drawing, then bring Slowking or Mew ex forward to attack without paying any Retreat.

Where the lists disagree
The flex slots trade targeted reach against consistency. Zeraora's Thunder Raid hits a Benched Pokémon ex for 210 damage, while Annihilape's Destined Fight knocks out both Active Pokémon at the cost of Slowking itself - useful in different board states. Surfer and Prime Catcher offer switching and drawing options that shift the Supporter line away from pure card volume and toward board positioning.

Your first turns, and what to aim for
Your opening priority is to evolve at least one Slowpoke into Slowking and get the deck ordering engine running. Use Ciphermaniac's Codebreaking to put two cards on top of the deck in the order you want, then use Academy at Night to adjust the very top card if the search leaves something misaligned. Meowth ex's Last-Ditch Catch Ability, triggered when you play it to the Bench, fetches any Supporter from your deck, so it can grab Ciphermaniac's Codebreaking or Lillie's Determination on the turn you need it most. Telepathic Psychic Energy, when attached from your hand to a Psychic Pokémon, searches your deck for up to two Basic Psychic Pokémon and puts them on your Bench, accelerating both board presence and energy setup simultaneously.
Once Slowking is attacking, keep Mega Kangaskhan ex on the Bench as a backup Active. When you need extra cards, move it to the Active Spot to trigger Run Errand for 2 cards, then retreat it for free thanks to Latias ex's Skyliner Ability and return Slowking to attack. Wondrous Patch attaches a Basic Psychic Energy from your discard pile to a Benched Psychic Pokémon, keeping Energy flowing after each discard cycle. Fezandipiti ex's Flip the Script Ability draws 3 cards on the turn after any of your Pokémon are knocked out, turning Prize-card pressure into immediate card advantage to reload your hand and re-order the deck for the next Seek Inspiration hit.

Quick answers about playing and building this deck.
01Is Slowking / Mega Kangaskhan ex good for beginners?⌄
No - this deck is rated Hard and is not recommended for beginners. It runs two separate Stage 2 evolution lines (Annihilape and Metagross) alongside a Stage 1 in Slowking, plus twelve distinct Trainer cards to manage. The core loop of ordering your deck precisely with Ciphermaniac's Codebreaking and Academy at Night, then firing Seek Inspiration to copy the right attack at the right moment, demands a solid understanding of card sequencing and Energy management. Players who are comfortable with multi-stage evolution decks and enjoy planning two or three turns ahead will get the most from it.
02What are the key cards in Slowking / Mega Kangaskhan ex?⌄
The non-negotiable cards are Slowking, which uses Seek Inspiration to copy non-Rule Box Pokémon attacks from the top of the deck, and Ciphermaniac's Codebreaking, which puts two chosen cards on top of the deck in any order to control what Slowking finds. Four copies of Academy at Night let you fine-tune the top card each turn. Mew ex's Memory Helix Ability provides a parallel attack route through your Benched Pokémon, and Mega Kangaskhan ex's Run Errand Ability draws 2 cards whenever it is in the Active Spot. Latias ex's Skyliner Ability ties it together by removing Retreat Costs from all your Basic Pokémon in play.
