What is Riftbound TCG?

Riftbound is the official League of Legends trading card game from Riot Games. Players build decks around iconic League of Legends champions and battle to conquer the Rift. Cards belong to six domains - Body, Calm, Chaos, Fury, Mind and Order - and include Champions, Units, Spells, Gear, Runes, Battlefields and Legends.

How a game plays

Riftbound is a competitive two-player game. Each player commands a Legend and a deck of Units, Spells and other cards, spending Energy and Power to play them. Players contest Battlefields with their Units, and the first to score enough points by holding locations and defeating the enemy wins the game. Cards can be combined across domains to build varied strategies.

What's new in Radiance?

Radiance is the fifth Riftbound set and the last of 2026. It brings nine new Legends, including Ekko, Orianna, Ziggs, K'Sante, Seraphine, Evelynn, Jarvan IV and Mordekaiser, three new keywords and the game's first neutral Champion Unit. It releases in English, French and Simplified Chinese on the same day.

Deploy

New keyword. Gear with Deploy can be played to any battlefield: your own, an empty one, or one your opponent holds. It keeps working while it sits there, but if your opponent controls that battlefield the gear is destroyed. Ziggs, Hexplosives Expert deploys Bomb tokens that damage an enemy unit when they are killed, and Dockside Lock-Up banishes a unit when it is played.

Show Off

New keyword. A card that asks you to Show Off gets an extra effect if you reveal a qualifying card from your hand or point to one already on the board. It gives you early impact, at the cost of telling your opponent what you are holding. Rousing Display makes two Recruit tokens, or four if you show off a card that costs 7 or more Energy.

Disarm

New keyword. The first time a unit with Disarm attacks in a combat, it gives an enemy unit at the same battlefield -1 Might for the turn. Like Assault, every instance stacks, so several sources of Disarm hit much harder. Kai'Sa, Rebel has Disarm and gives your spells Reaction during showdowns.

Gear that becomes a unit

New interaction. Orianna, Lady of Clockwork can turn one of your gear into a unit, with Might equal to its Energy cost, until you choose another gear. Equipment that becomes a unit detaches straight away.

Neeko, the first neutral Champion

First for Riftbound. Neeko is the first neutral Champion Unit, so she can go into any deck whatever its domains.

Collector treatments

Showcase and chase cards. 66 of the set's cards have a Showcase version, every one of the nine new Legends has an Overnumbered version, and music-themed alternate art Runes turn up in booster packs. The Ultimate Rare, Packed Amphitheater, appears in roughly 1 in 4,000 packs.

Is Radiance worth it?

Our take, based on the cards and products revealed so far.

For players. Deploy, Show Off and Disarm all change how you fight over battlefields, and Neeko fits any deck, so Radiance has something for every existing build as well as new Legends to build around. Pre-Rift is a friendly way to try the set before release.

For collectors. The Showcase cards and the Overnumbered Legends are what most collectors will chase, with the music-themed Runes as a set-specific extra and Packed Amphitheater at the very top end.
