Mega Lopunny ex at a glance
- Switch Mega Lopunny ex in from the Bench each turn to fire Gale Thrust for 230 damage.
- Dusknoir's Cursed Blast places 13 damage counters to soften targets the attacker can't quite reach.
- A complex Stage 2 line and eleven distinct Trainer types make this a deck for experienced players.
How Mega Lopunny ex wins
The core plan is simple to describe and demanding to execute. Mega Lopunny ex has a single-Colorless attack, Gale Thrust, that does 60 damage - but if Mega Lopunny ex moved from your Bench to the Active Spot this turn, it does 170 more, totalling 230. The deck runs four copies of Switch and two copies of Latias ex, whose Skyliner Ability gives all your Basic Pokémon in play no Retreat Cost, so you can reliably move a fresh Mega Lopunny ex in from the Bench each turn without spending any additional resources. When you need to push through protection effects, Spiky Hopper deals 160 damage unaffected by any effects on your opponent's Active Pokémon.
Dusknoir is the damage-routing engine that makes awkward numbers work. Its Cursed Blast Ability lets you place 13 damage counters on any one of your opponent's Pokémon once per turn, at the cost of Knocking Out Dusknoir itself. Dusclops has the same Ability at a smaller scale, placing 5 damage counters. Stacking counters onto a Benched Pokémon sets up a target that Mega Lopunny ex's Gale Thrust or a follow-up Cursed Blast can finish off. Because Dusknoir is a Stage 2, the deck plays four Rare Candy to skip the Dusclops stage when speed is critical, and Hilda searches both an Evolution Pokémon and an Energy card from the deck in a single Supporter play.
Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex provides a secondary attack route. Its Seasoned Skill Ability reduces the cost of Blood Moon by one Colorless Energy for each Prize card your opponent has taken, making its 240-damage attack increasingly affordable as the game progresses. Mega Kangaskhan ex supports the early turns: if it is in the Active Spot, its Run Errand Ability lets you draw 2 cards once per turn, keeping your hand stocked while your evolution lines develop.
Telepathing Psychic Energy does double duty - it provides Psychic Energy and, when attached from hand to a Psychic Pokémon, searches up to 2 Basic Psychic Pokémon from your deck onto your Bench, helping populate the Duskull line quickly. Meowth ex's Last-Ditch Catch Ability, triggered when you play it from hand to the Bench, searches any Supporter from your deck, which means you can fetch Hilda, Boss's Orders or Lillie's Determination precisely when you need them.

Where the lists disagree
The main flex choices trade early disruption against late-game recovery and additional search. Budew and Frillish both use their attacks to stop the opponent playing Item cards on their next turn, slowing opposing set-up, while Night Stretcher recovers a Pokémon or Basic Energy from your discard pile back to hand. Ciphermaniac's Codebreaking and Buddy-Buddy Poffin represent extra search options: Codebreaking puts two specific cards on top of your deck, while Poffin fetches up to two Basic Pokémon with 70 HP or less onto the Bench - directly relevant for populating the Duskull line.

Your first turns, and what to aim for
In the opening turns, your priorities are getting a Duskull line on the Bench and attaching a Telepathic Psychic Energy to a Psychic Pokémon so its search effect puts more Basic Pokémon into play. Hilda is your most important Supporter play early: it finds an Evolution Pokémon such as Dusknoir or Bronzong alongside an Energy card, advancing two needs at once. Meowth ex can search any Supporter from your deck when played to the Bench, so it effectively converts a Bench placement into a Hilda, Lillie's Determination or whichever Supporter you need most. Mega Kangaskhan ex in the Active Spot draws you 2 cards via Run Errand while you build your Bench, and Latias ex should reach the Bench as early as possible so that all your Basic Pokémon have no Retreat Cost.
Once set-up is underway, you want at least one Mega Lopunny ex on the Bench with an Energy attached and a Switch ready. The loop each turn is: switch Mega Lopunny ex into the Active Spot, use Gale Thrust for 230 damage, then next turn switch in a fresh one or use Buneary's Run Around attack to move back to the Bench and forward again. Use Dusknoir's Cursed Blast to place 13 damage counters on a Benched opposing Pokémon that is out of Gale Thrust range, setting it up for a subsequent knock-out. Rare Candy skips the Dusclops stage when you need Dusknoir quickly. Salvatore can evolve a Pokémon that was put into play on the same turn, bypassing the normal timing restriction, giving you an extra route to get Dusknoir into play at speed. Aim to keep at least one Dusknoir in reserve rather than using Cursed Blast every turn unless the knock-out is decisive.

Mega Lopunny ex, answered
Quick answers about playing and building this deck.
01Is Mega Lopunny ex good for beginners?⌄
No - Mega Lopunny ex is rated Hard and is not recommended for beginners. The deck manages a Stage 2 evolution line in Dusknoir alongside a Stage 1 in Mega Lopunny ex, runs eleven distinct Trainer types, and demands precise sequencing to chain Gale Thrust turns consistently. You need to track damage counters placed by Cursed Blast, manage two or more Mega Lopunny ex on the Bench, and make correct Supporter choices turn by turn. Players who are comfortable with multi-stage evolution decks and tight resource management will find the deck rewarding, but it asks a lot from the first game.
02What are the key cards in Mega Lopunny ex?⌄
The non-negotiable cards are Mega Lopunny ex, the full Duskull-Dusclops-Dusknoir line, and Latias ex. Mega Lopunny ex is the attacker: Gale Thrust does 230 damage when it moves from the Bench to the Active Spot this turn. Dusknoir's Cursed Blast places 13 damage counters on any opposing Pokémon to soften targets. Latias ex's Skyliner Ability gives all your Basic Pokémon in play no Retreat Cost, which is what lets you switch Mega Lopunny ex in freely each turn. Hilda and Rare Candy round out the engine by finding Evolution Pokémon plus Energy and accelerating the Dusknoir line respectively.
03How much does a Mega Lopunny ex deck cost in the UK?⌄
Every card at the cheapest printing we list comes to £101.50 at today's prices, and we can send 15 of the 60 cards today (£15.15). Prices and stock change daily, so the list above always shows the current figures.
04Is Mega Lopunny ex Standard legal?⌄
Yes. Every card in this list is legal in the current Standard format (TEF-30C).
