Lugia VSTAR Deck Guide - Pokemon TCG

Lugia VSTAR Deck Guide - Pokemon TCG

Overview

Lugia VSTAR is a powerful Colorless archetype built around its Summoning Star VSTAR Power, which allows you to place two Colorless Pokémon from your discard pile directly onto your Bench.

The deck’s entire strategy revolves around bringing back Archeops. Once in play, Archeops’ Primal Turbo ability attaches two Special Energy cards from the deck to your Pokémon each turn, providing some of the strongest energy acceleration in the format.

With two Archeops in play, Lugia decks can accelerate massive amounts of Special Energy every turn, enabling powerful attackers to swing immediately.

Playstyle

Lugia VSTAR decks focus on quickly discarding Archeops and reviving it using Summoning Star.

The early turns are spent using search and discard cards to place Archeops into the discard pile. Once Lugia VSTAR evolves, Summoning Star can bring two Archeops directly onto the Bench.

From there, Primal Turbo provides massive energy acceleration, allowing Lugia or other attackers to power up instantly. The deck typically runs several Special Energy types, enabling a variety of powerful attacks.

Because of its explosive energy acceleration, Lugia decks are capable of applying heavy pressure from the mid-game onward.

Core Pokémon

These Pokémon form the central engine of the deck.

Lugia VSTAR
The main engine of the deck. Summoning Star brings two Archeops from the discard pile directly to the Bench, enabling the deck’s powerful energy acceleration strategy.

Lugia V

Archeops
The key support Pokémon. Its Primal Turbo ability attaches two Special Energy from your deck to your Pokémon each turn, allowing attackers to power up extremely quickly.

Key Trainer Cards

These trainer cards help Lugia decks set up their strategy consistently.

Ultra Ball

Boss's Orders

Radiant Greninja

Manaphy

Strategy Tips

Discard Archeops early
Your first goal is to get Archeops into the discard pile as quickly as possible.

Use Summoning Star at the right time
Once Lugia VSTAR evolves, bringing two Archeops into play immediately unlocks massive energy acceleration.

Take advantage of Special Energy
Lugia decks often run multiple types of Special Energy, allowing flexible attackers and powerful damage outputs.

Plan your knockouts carefully
Because Lugia decks can power up attackers quickly, choosing the right targets with Boss’s Orders can swing the game in your favour.

Why Lugia VSTAR Remains Competitive

Lugia VSTAR remains a strong Tier-2 deck because of its explosive energy acceleration and powerful attackers. Once Archeops are in play, the deck can attach large amounts of Special Energy every turn, allowing it to keep up pressure against many top-tier strategies.
