The Pokémon Company International has unveiled its next major expansion for the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution - Pitch Black will launch worldwide on 17 July 2026, introducing Mega Evolution Pokémon from the upcoming Mega Dimension DLC for Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
New Mega Evolution Pokémon
The expansion features Mega Darkrai ex and Mega Zeraora ex as headlining cards. According to The Pokémon Company International, Mega Darkrai ex “emerges from the shadows with commanding presence” whilst Mega Zeraora ex “strikes back with electrifying power.”
The expansion also includes Mega Chandelure ex and Mega Excadrill ex.

- 6 Mega Evolution Pokémon ex
- 4 additional Pokémon ex
- 11 illustration rare Pokémon
- 18 ultra rare Pokémon and Trainer
- 6 special illustration rare Pokémon and Supporter
Release Schedule
- 4 July 2026 - Prerelease tournaments at participating independent retailers
- 16 July 2026 - Available on Pokémon TCG Live
- 17 July 2026 - Worldwide launch
Mega Evolution - Pitch Black will be available in booster packs, Elite Trainer Boxes, and various collections.
