Ogerpon Meganium at a glance
- Evolve into Meganium to double every Basic Grass Energy, then use Teal Dance to flood the board and hit hard with Arboliva ex or Myriad Leaf Shower.
- Suits players who enjoy methodical setup, managing evolution lines, and rewarding precise sequencing over raw aggression.
- Rated Hard - you are building two Stage 2 lines simultaneously while managing energy attachment each turn.
How Ogerpon Meganium wins
The deck's central mechanism is Meganium's Wild Growth ability: each Basic Grass Energy attached to any of your Pokémon provides two Grass Energy instead of one. That effect does not stack if you have two Meganium in play, but a single copy transforms every attachment across your whole board. The goal of your first few turns is to get Chikorita onto the Bench and move through Bayleef into Meganium as quickly as possible, using Forest of Vitality to evolve in the same turn you play each stage where needed.
While the Meganium line develops, four copies of Teal Mask Ogerpon ex sit on your Bench doing essential work. Teal Dance lets you attach a Basic Grass Energy from your hand to Teal Mask Ogerpon ex once per turn, and if you do, you draw a card. Once Meganium is in play, each of those attachments counts as two Grass Energy, so a single Teal Dance attachment can effectively power up an attacker rapidly. Bug Catching Set supports this by letting you look at the top seven cards of your deck and take up to two cards that are Grass Pokémon or Basic Grass Energy, keeping the hand full of the resources Teal Dance needs.
Arboliva ex is the deck's second Stage 2 payoff. Its Oil Salvo attack costs a single Grass Energy and lets you choose one of your opponent's Pokémon six times, doing 20 damage for each choice - up to 120 damage spread however you like, and that damage is not affected by Weakness or Resistance. With Wild Growth active, one Basic Grass Energy covers that cost. Aroma Shot hits for 160 damage for three Colorless Energy and clears all Special Conditions. Teal Mask Ogerpon ex's own attack, Myriad Leaf Shower, costs three Grass Energy and does 30 damage plus 30 more for each Energy attached to both Active Pokémon, turning an energy-heavy board state into a decisive hit.
Noctowl ties the Trainer engine together. When you play it from your hand to evolve Hoothoot, if you have any Tera Pokémon in play - Teal Mask Ogerpon ex qualifies - Noctowl's Jewel Seeker ability lets you search your deck for up to two Trainer cards and put them into your hand. That fetch can grab a Forest of Vitality to accelerate the next evolution, a Boss's Orders to drag up a specific target, or any other Trainer the turn demands. Dawn adds further consistency by searching your deck for one Basic, one Stage 1, and one Stage 2 Pokémon at once, letting you assemble both evolution lines from a single Supporter play.

Your first turns, and what to aim for
Your opening priority is bench construction. Start by placing Chikorita and at least one Teal Mask Ogerpon ex on your Bench. Use Dawn to search for a Basic, Stage 1, and Stage 2 Pokémon in a single Supporter play - ideally collecting pieces of the Meganium line or Smoliv for Arboliva ex. Forest of Vitality is the stadium you want in play early, as it allows your Grass Pokémon to evolve into Grass Pokémon during the same turn you play them (except your first turn), which collapses the usual two-turn delay of building Stage 2 lines. Bug Catching Set and Poké Pad help dig for Grass Pokémon and energy to keep the hand productive.
Once Meganium is in play with Wild Growth active, the texture of the game changes immediately. Every Basic Grass Energy you attach anywhere counts as two Grass Energy, so Teal Dance's once-per-turn attachment on Teal Mask Ogerpon ex is now providing two Grass Energy and drawing you a card at the same time. Use Lillie's Determination to refresh your hand - drawing eight cards if you still have all six Prize cards remaining. When you evolve Hoothoot into Noctowl with a Tera Pokémon in play, Jewel Seeker fetches up to two Trainer cards: use it to grab whatever is missing, whether that is a Forest of Vitality, a Boss's Orders to redirect your opponent's Active Pokémon, or an Energy Switch to move a Basic Grass Energy from one Pokémon to another.
In the mid-game, choose your attacker based on the board. Arboliva ex's Oil Salvo for one Grass Energy spreads damage across your opponent's Pokémon six times, softening targets for follow-up knockouts. Myriad Leaf Shower scales with total energy attached to both Active Pokémon, so a fully loaded Teal Mask Ogerpon ex can hit for very large numbers. Fezandipiti ex's Flip the Script ability draws three cards if any of your Pokémon were knocked out during your opponent's last turn, giving you recovery draw without spending your Supporter. Unfair Stamp can be used when your own Pokémon have been knocked out, leaving your opponent with only two cards while you draw five - a strong reset that buys time to rebuild.

Ogerpon Meganium, answered
Quick answers about playing and building this deck.
01Is Ogerpon Meganium good for beginners?⌄
No, Ogerpon Meganium is not a good choice for beginners - it is rated Hard for a reason. You are managing two separate Stage 2 evolution lines (Meganium and Arboliva ex) at the same time, alongside a Stage 1 in Noctowl, which means tracking multiple evolution stages, knowing when Forest of Vitality lets you skip a turn of waiting, and sequencing Teal Dance attachments correctly each turn. If you are new to the game, it is worth building confidence with a single-attacker deck before taking on a list with twelve distinct Trainer cards and this many moving parts.
02What are the key cards in Ogerpon Meganium?⌄
The three cards the deck cannot function without are Meganium, Teal Mask Ogerpon ex, and Arboliva ex. Meganium's Wild Growth ability makes every Basic Grass Energy count as two Grass Energy, which is the foundation everything else is built on. Teal Mask Ogerpon ex provides free energy acceleration and card draw each turn through Teal Dance, keeping the engine running. Arboliva ex gives you a powerful attacker that only needs one Grass Energy for Oil Salvo once Wild Growth is active. Noctowl and Bug Catching Set round out the consistency engine, fetching Trainer cards and filtering the top of the deck for Grass Pokémon and energy.
03How much does a Ogerpon Meganium deck cost in the UK?⌄
Every card at the cheapest printing we list comes to £98.60 at today's prices, and we can send 8 of the 60 cards today (£9.02). Prices and stock change daily, so the list above always shows the current figures.
04Is Ogerpon Meganium Standard legal?⌄
Yes. Every card in this list is legal in the current Standard format (TEF-30C).
