Every card here is overlooked relative to its own profile - cheap against genuine rarity peers, quietly moving, and still well off its yearly high. This is not a chase list. We screen the catalogue on deterministic rules, then read each pick across four dimensions so you can see exactly why it qualified.

Illustration-rarity artwork, priced below the median for its rarity
The Arbok Illustration Rare from SV05: Temporal Forces is a striking piece of artwork. The composition places the cobra dead-centre against a fractured, jagged background rendered in sharp greens and deep teals, giving the card an almost woodblock-print energy. Arbok itself is depicted mid-lunge, its hood flared to reveal the pale crescent marking, with the angular linework of the background echoing the coiled tension of the pose. The palette contrast between the cool, splintered surrounds and the warm purple of the snake makes it one of the more visually distinctive Illustration Rares in the Temporal Forces set. It has put in a strong run over the past ninety days and now sits close to its recorded high, a pattern our signals flag as a quiet climber worth watching.
Value, momentum, liquidity and rarity, each scored 0-10 with the underlying number shown. Diagnostics, not the selection algorithm.

07FAQ
Hidden Gems, answered
How we screen for overlooked cards, what the four scores mean, and how to read each issue.
01What is Hidden Gems?⌄
Hidden Gems is Monster Card Corner's fortnightly screen of Pokemon TCG singles that look overlooked relative to their own profile - cards that are cheap against their genuine rarity peers, quietly climbing, and still sitting well off their yearly high. It is a collecting guide, not investment advice.
02How does Hidden Gems choose cards?⌄
Each issue we screen the tracked catalogue on deterministic rules across four dimensions - value (rarity-relative affordability), momentum (winsorised 90-day movement), liquidity (Pulse sales for featured cards) and rarity - then fill a fixed set of categories such as Quiet Climber, Artwork Gem, Affordable Gem and Grading Opportunity.
03What makes a card a “hidden gem”?⌄
A hidden gem is priced low against other cards of the same rarity and era, has been moving up quietly rather than spiking, and is still trading below its 52-week high. The idea is overlooked-relative-to-profile, not chasing whatever is already pumping.
04What do the four scores mean?⌄
Each featured card carries four 0-10 diagnostic bars. Value rewards cards that are cheap versus their rarity peers; Momentum reflects winsorised 90-day price movement so a single spike can't max it; Liquidity is Pulse-sourced sales for featured cards only and reads “Not available” when absent; Rarity is a fixed, versioned rarity map. They explain each pick - they are not the selection algorithm.
05Is Hidden Gems investment advice?⌄
No. Hidden Gems is a collecting guide. Prices are catalogue values that move with the market, there are no price predictions, and nothing here is financial advice - only what we think is worth watching.
06How often is Hidden Gems updated?⌄
Hidden Gems runs fortnightly, with a fresh screen of the eligible gem universe and a new set of picks each issue.
What to watch next
Every issue we run the same screens. When a card holds its new floor while staying off its high, it earns a second look. The ones that nearly qualified this issue are the ones worth watching.
Hidden Gems runs fortnightly. This is a collecting guide, not investment advice - no price predictions, only what's worth watching.
