Overview
Dragapult ex is one of the most dominant Stage 2 decks in the current Pokémon TCG format. Its strategy revolves around spreading damage across the opponent’s board using its powerful Phantom Dive attack.
Phantom Dive deals 140 damage to the Active Pokémon and places 6 damage counters anywhere on the opponent’s board, allowing Dragapult to set up multiple knockouts over several turns.
By repeatedly spreading damage across the Bench, the deck can create situations where several Pokémon are within knockout range at once, enabling efficient multi-Prize turns.
Playstyle

The early game is spent setting up the Dragapult evolution line while establishing draw support. Once Dragapult ex begins attacking, Phantom Dive spreads damage counters across multiple targets, weakening several Pokémon at the same time.
Over the course of a few turns, this spread damage allows the deck to finish off multiple Pokémon in quick succession, often creating turns where several Prize cards can be taken.
Because of its ability to control the board state, Dragapult ex is extremely effective against decks that rely on multiple support Pokémon.
