Reshiram, Zekrom, Unown, and Drifloon Revealed from 30th Celebration

Four new cards from the upcoming 30th Celebration set have just been revealed in Traditional Chinese and Japanese, giving us our best look yet at what this milestone release has in store. The set’s products are scheduled to begin releasing worldwide on 16 September 2026, and these latest reveals lean heavily into nostalgia, with a dash of genuine competitive intrigue.

Reshiram and Zekrom: A Legendary Pair Reunited

The Tao duo from Pokemon Black and White are back, and their new cards share a beautifully mirrored design. Both Reshiram and Zekrom are Basic Pokemon with 130 HP. They each feature an identical two-energy Slash attack that deals 50 damage, plus a three-energy signature move, Laser Flame for Reshiram and Nitro Thunder for Zekrom, that hits for 80 damage as standard but deals 80 more if the opposite energy type is attached. Reshiram’s Laser Flame gets the bonus from Lightning Energy, while Zekrom’s Nitro Thunder triggers off Fire Energy.

This cross-energy synergy is a lovely flavour nod to the lore of these two legendaries, and it rewards deckbuilders willing to run a mixed energy line or lean on cards that provide off-type acceleration. At 160 damage from a Basic Pokemon with no rule box, that boosted output is nothing to scoff at, especially in formats where single-prize attackers matter. Whether either card finds a competitive home will depend on the rest of the set and any supporting Trainers, but as celebration-worthy reprints go, these feel properly thought through.

Unown and Drifloon: Charming Details and Sneaky Effects

The smaller reveals carry just as much personality. Unown is a Psychic-type Basic with 80 HP and a single attack, Mysterious Signal, which costs two Psychic Energy for 40 damage. The real kicker is its effect: if the opponent’s Pokemon is Knocked Out by this attack, you take one additional Prize card. That is a powerful ability in the right situation, especially when softening up low-HP targets or cleaning up chip damage from earlier turns. According to the source, the Unown in the card’s artwork spell out “ANNIVERSARY,” which is a brilliant touch for a 30th birthday celebration.

Drifloon rounds out the batch as a 70 HP Psychic-type Basic. Its Float Up attack deals 20 damage for a single Psychic Energy, with the option to shuffle Drifloon and all attached cards back into your deck afterwards. It is a simple card, but that self-bouncing effect has historically been handy for keeping a fragile Pokemon out of harm’s way or denying your opponent easy knockouts and prize cards.

With worldwide products starting on 16 September 2026, there is still plenty of time for more 30th Celebration reveals. These four cards set a promising tone, blending collectible appeal with cards that actually do interesting things on the table. Keep your eyes peeled for more announcements as we edge closer to launch.
