A fresh trademark filing has given Pokémon TCG fans plenty to speculate about this week. The name “MEGA x MEGA Parade” has appeared in Japanese trademark records, and if history is anything to go by, it could signal the next premium-tier release for collectors and players alike.
What Do We Know?
According to PokeBeach, a trademark for MEGA x MEGA Parade (MEGA x MEGA パレード) has been filed by The Pokémon Company. Crucially, it’s registered under the same categories previously used for TCG set names and products - a strong indicator that this is card-game related rather than, say, a mobile app or piece of merch.

The name fits squarely into the tradition of Japan’s annual High Class Pack sets, which have always incorporated the era’s signature card mechanic into their title. Previous entries in this lineage include MEGA Dream ex, Terastal Festival ex, Shiny Treasure ex, VSTAR Universe, VMAX Climax, Shiny Star V, TAG All Stars, and GX Ultra Shiny. The word “Parade” also echoes the celebratory feel of Terastal Festival ex from two years ago. If you’ve ever cracked open one of these High Class Packs, you’ll know the appeal - they’re typically loaded with alternate-art reprints, shiny Pokémon, and chase cards that make them some of the most sought-after products each year.

It’s worth noting that these trademark filings sometimes leave out TCG-specific terms. PokeBeach points out that Terastal Festival ex was originally trademarked without the “ex” suffix, so the final product name could differ slightly from what we’re seeing now.
When Could It Drop?
That’s the tricky part. Trademark filings typically surface six months to a year before a product actually launches, so nothing is confirmed on timing. Historically, Japan’s High Class Pack sets have landed between November and early December - but the current schedule already looks packed. According to PokeBeach, here’s what’s on the horizon for Japan:
- 31 July - Storm Emeralda, starring Mega Rayquaza ex, plus three MEGA Starter Set ex Decks featuring Eevee ex, Zoroark ex, and Meowscarada ex
- 16 September - Global launch of 30th Celebration, alongside two Japanese-exclusive boxes: the “Premium Deck Set Espeon & Umbreon” and the “Futuristic Box” featuring two Pikachu ex
- 16 October - Nine 30th Celebration Card Sets featuring the 27 Starter Pokémon promos
- 13 November - A Special Deck Set featuring Mega Feraligatr ex, Mega Dragonite ex, and Mega Gengar ex
- 27 November - Aura Seeker, starring Mega Lucario Z ex
With Aura Seeker already slotted for late November, there doesn’t appear to be an obvious window for another major release this year. That said, the entire MEGA block has rewritten the rules. Japan no longer releases traditional subsets, English sets now arrive every two months in smaller batches, and the 30th Celebration marked the first-ever simultaneous global release. If there’s one lesson from this era, it’s that the old schedule no longer applies.
Whether MEGA x MEGA Parade lands in December 2026 or pushes into early 2027, collectors should keep it firmly on the radar. High Class Packs are consistently among the most exciting products of any given year, and a set that doubles down on the MEGA mechanic - as the name implies - could be something special. We’ll keep you posted as more details emerge.
